moth memes
In 2018, when Wild Green Memes was just over a year old and only had a few thousand members, this picture of a moth swept the internet. Wild Green Memes was no exception, and after moth memes began to enter the group in large numbers the mods decided to pull a prank on members. We only approved moth memes for several days, watching as people slowly realized the group was now just a firehose of lepidopteran content. This was Wild Green Memes' first trend, and it only abated with the help of meme-based biological control (more on that in the bony-eared assfish level).

but can they why
Wild Green Admin Curtis Sarkin posted several versions of this meme in a row, all with hilarious typos, before posting the correct version. Insanity followed, and this meme has become one of the furthest-reaching of any to originate in Wild Green Memes.

Wild Green Friends
People often thing this is the name of our group If you are confused, it's Wild Green FIENDS (no r). congratulations, you are in good company. When many people remember something incorrectly in the same way, it's called the Mandala Effect. This is because many people mistakenly remember that Nelson Mandela died in prison, instead of living free for several decades, including as president of South Africa. If you would like another example of this effect, think about what you remember to be the name of the Berenstain Bears.

the original frog logo
This was our original logo! The Budgett's frog is a reference to the Wednesday Dude. Look at him go!

carcinization
*extend eye* lineages of *swoop* keep converging on the CLACK form over time, a process which has *scuttle* named "carcinization". When a *swoop* *scuttle* body form keeps re-evolving independently, it's usually a sign that it's a pretty *swoop* way for an organism to *scuttle*. *swoop* on the internet learned about *extend eye* then extrapolated to say that not only *swoop* many crustaceans *scuttle* to become *swoop*, but maybe everything *extend eye* one CLICK CLICK the claw! We're going to wait *swoop* see what happens...
